Tribe launches new video streaming service in Phl

Beyond content, Tribe also hopes to reach communities online and on-ground through fan gatherings, exclusive promos, and contests. With the MAMA viewing party, Tribe kicked things off and introduced itself to the local K-pop community.

Tribe has launched the latest mobile-first over-the-top (OTT) video streaming service in the Philippines. Tribe also introduced its ambassador, singer-actress Glaiza de Castro.

An OTT service for video consumers in the ASEAN market which recently launched in Indonesia, Tribe offers live and on-demand content comprising of popular genres in Korean entertainment, anime, e-Sports, Asian thrillers, and fight shows.

Tribe currently offers live and on-demand content with a wide selection for Korean entertainment and sports fans and Asian thriller movie buffs. K-entertainment aficionados will be able to catch shows on KBS World and tvN including same-day as Korea airing dramas like Hwarang (coming in December 20) and My Fair Lady. Anime fans meanwhile will be able to enjoy content from Aniplus including the latest anime series like Drifter and Occultic Nine. They can also catch up on anime favorites like Erased, Terror in Resonance, and Psycho Pass.

Tribe will also be live streaming the Boston Major Dota Tournament via its 24/7 eGG channel. Action, thriller, and fight fans will enjoy programs from KIX and Thrill channels which has Bellator, Top Gear Korea and a selection of Asian suspense thriller movies in their line-up.

As it enters the Philippine market, Tribe hopes to create new and immersive experiences for different fandoms and connect them with each other to help them find their own “tribe”. The brand seeks to build its relevance among communities that resonate with today’s most connected group: the millennials.

“Millennials highly value the communities and fandoms they build or find on the Internet. Based on our research, Korean entertainment, anime, and e-Sports are the most popular genres that create strong online groups among our intended audience. Through our content and other initiatives, we hope to increase group interactions, and also help millennials find their tribe,” shares Ryza Dipatuan, head of marketing of Tribe Philippines.
