Samsung has unveiled its new lineup of digital appliances equipped with energy efficient and other convenient features. These appliances – including the triangular air conditioner, food showcase refrigerator, front load washing machine with Eco-Bubble technology, and smart oven – are said to make “a happy home, while also being environment-friendly”.
First on the list of its inventions is the new air conditioner with a triangular design that has a wider inlet, wider outlet and a bigger fan to ensure that air is cooled and expelled 26% faster, 14 meters farther, and 39% wider, ensuring even air distribution and powerful cooling while maintaining its sleek look and elegant finish to blend into any modern home. Equipped with Samsung’s Digital Inverter Technology (DIT), the air conditioner can maintain the desired temperature without frequently shutting off and on, for less energy consumption. DIT helps users to stay comfortable for long periods of time, while using the minimum amount of energy, that is, up to 60% less electricity than conventional air conditioners.
To cool down the room faster, the air conditioner has a Fast Cool mode which automatically changes the mode to Comfort Cool to maintain the desired temperature. It also features a Single User mode that uses less compressor capacity, reducing power consumption, while still providing a cool and comfortable environment. It also boasts of a Virus Doctor, an innovative air purifying technology that neutralizes harmful contaminants in the air. It similarly has a Wi-Fi function, so that – using a smartphone’s application – users can turn the air conditioner on and off, and select the operating mode as well as temperature. The air conditioner’s Smart Check automatic error-monitoring system detects and diagnoses problems and provides troubleshooting solutions using a smartphone application.
The second innovation is the new refrigerator that features two layers of doors to showcase its contents. It has an outer compartment for most frequently used products, allowing instant access; and an inner compartment for ingredients that are not used as often. This setup does not only maximize space, it also makes organizing and consuming food a simple process. Aside from this, the refrigerator is also equipped with Digital Inverter Technology, which means that it utilizes the same smart technology that allows it to adjust its temperature accordingly. This way, no unnecessary energy is consumed, making it an efficient and cost effective appliance.
Also part of the lineup of Samsung’s new smart appliances is the Front Load Washing Machine, which makes use of the firm’s own Eco-Bubble Technology that lets powerful cleaning in cold water. This technology allows for easy cleaning by completely dissolving detergent even with cold water producing fine foam that easily penetrates the fabric for both effective and gentle, cutting the time, effort and energy needed in doing this task. It is also equipped with Digital Inverter Technology that ensures efficiency and cost-effectiveness. And aside from its high Revolution per Minute (RPM) rate which makes Samsung’s washing machine powerful, it is also furnished with Stain Away Program, which was designed to deal with 12 most common types of stains.
Last on the list of new generation of digital appliances is the Samsung Smart Oven, which provides more cooking settings. It features auto-cook for pre-programmed recipes, and “Slim Fry” function that differentiates this smart oven from the ordinary microwave oven. The “Slim Fry” technology makes fried food cooked to a crisp without the oil. The oven has sensors that allow it to identify a food’s surface temperature. Whether the food is frozen, chilled or fresh, the sensors can adjust its heat accordingly so users do not have to worry about overcooking or undercooking meals.
