Huawei launches ‘Make It Possible’ campaign, eyes Phl growth

“We have a very strong technology. We want to provide good solutions to our customers. We will focus on high-end and low-end products and on global appearance,” says Gavin Dai, CEO of Huawei Technologies Phils., Inc.

According to the IDC’s third quarter 2013 market research report, Huawei Device is currently amongst the top three smartphone vendors. “Nothing is impossible. We see possibilities all over the world,” says local chief executive of global ICT company. “Huawei can be on top in the next two to three years.”

In line with the company’s brand campaign, Huawei teamed up with Jasmine Curtis-Smith, the company’s first brand ambassador in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the growing demand for smart devices inspired Huawei to release new devices for the connected generation this Christmas season. Among these are the Ascend P6 Limited Kitty Pink Edition, four Ascend dual SIM phones, two seven-inch phablets, LTE mobile Wi-Fi, and the Huawei Wi-Fi repeater/extender.

In an all pink metallic body, the limited edition Kitty Pink Huawei Ascend P6 boasts of slimness, measuring 6.18mm and 5MP front camera and ImageSmart features such as 10 levels of face beautification, object tracing focus, and auto scene recognition. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, runs Android 4.2.2 operating system and features a 4.7-inch high-definition in-cell display. It was chosen by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) as the Best Consumer Smartphone Product for 2013-2014. The device is also available in Alps White and Carbon Black colors.

Huawei also released the new five-inch quad-core Ascend G610, 4.5-inch quad-core Ascend G525, 4.0 dual-core Ascend Y320, and 3.5 dual-core Ascend Y220. These dual SIM dual standby Android-based phones feature bigger screen and faster processor. Suggested retail price starts at P2,850.

The company brought out in the market its call-enabled tablets or phablets, MediaPad 7” Vogue and MediaPad 7” Youth, and MediaPad 10“ Link, a premium multimedia powerhouse tablet. With entertainment capabilities and long-lasting battery power, the two seven-inch phablets have a built-in receiver for direct calling capability where headphones are not needed. MediaPad 7” Vogue is powered by quad-core 1.2GHz processor, features 3G cellular voice, SMS and MMS capability, 42Mbps network and sold at a suggested retail price of P10.990.

On the other hand, MediaPad 7” Youth 3G/Wi-Fi phablet is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 9.9mm slim, has 2G/3G voice call and priced at P9,999. For the Christmas season, this model is sold at P8,995. The MediaPad 10” Link, which features a 9.9mm slimness, quad-core CPU, full high-definition playback and Dolby-surround sound, is sold at a SRP of P16,800.

The Huawei Wi-Fi Repeater WS332, a plug-in wireless range extender that picks up a faint Wi-Fi signal and boosts it, boosts the Wi-Fi connectivity in black spot areas like room, kitchen and garden that have no Wi-Fi connectivity. Sells at P1,890, the WS322 serves as a router that provides Wi-Fi access point and as a repeater that extends the wireless signal coverage, or as a wireless network adapter. It delivers a wireless transmission speed of up to 300Mbps.

A mobile Wi-Fi that holds up to 150Mbps of downlink speed of fastest LTE CAT4, the Huawei Mobile Wi-Fi E5372 LTE is designed for portability and high quality experience with good quality materials. This device has a SRP of P5,790.

In connection with the release of Huawei’s new devices, the company conducted a global holiday online competition called “Unlock Possibilities.” Currently running in 48 countries including the Philippines, the free online competition provides applicants the chance to win a line-up of goodies, culminating in two grand prize Mercedes-Benz Sports Coupes.

The online competition demonstrates the company’s aspiration to become one of the leading global mobile phone brands by offering quality, innovative and fashionable products within reach of the people. Focusing on Huawei Ascend P6, the competition is aimed to excite a global audience including Filipinos as Huawei continues to build its leadership in the smartphone industry.

Huawei has a global manpower pool reaching over 150,000. It plans to put up more stores in the Philippines, particularly in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro. The company also plans to release LTE handsets in 2014, in addition to the two LTE handsets released for Smart Communications and Globe this year.
