Converge pumps PhP23B into network expansion, adds nearly 1M ports for faster internet

Converge is targeting Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao regions for a major connectivity boost, with over 100,000 new ports being allocated for service this year in areas like Capiz, Samar, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro, and Sultan Kudarat.

Fixed broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. is bringing faster Internet to more Filipinos, especially in Visayas and Mindanao, with nearly one million new ports available this year. To make this happen, the company is investing PhP23-billion in capital expenditure (CAPEX) this year, representing a 30% increase from last year’s PhP17.7-billion. The boost in CAPEX will strengthen and expand its extensive network, bringing world-class connectivity to more cities and towns across the country.

“We are investing heavily in our network expansion as we push harder for visibility in Visayas and Mindanao. At the same time, we are ramping up our Enterprise business amid increasing demand for quality connectivity and innovative solutions from enterprises of all sizes,” said Converge CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy.

Converge is targeting Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao regions for a major connectivity boost, with over 100,000 new ports being allocated for service this year in areas like Capiz, Samar, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro, and Sultan Kudarat.

With these additions, Converge now has 9.2-million ports nationwide, covering 66% of homes passed. The company’s port utilization hit 37% with nearly three million residential subscribers in 2025.

“We expect to further increase our port utilization even as we accelerate our port rollout given the continued strong demand for our flagship FiberX plans, steady rise in our low-cost postpaid BIDA, and the vigorous take-up of our prepaid internet Surf2Sawa or S2S,” said Uy.
