Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) turned over a Smart WiFi Charging Station to PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College to provide students with a convenient hub for free device charging and reliable internet connectivity on campus, highlighting the telco’s efforts to strengthen digital access for schools and communities across Mindanao.
PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College is also a long-time beneficiary of Smart Infocast, Smart’s text-broadcast platform that allows the school to send timely updates, safety reminders, and class announcements to thousands of students at no cost.
Santina Calipayan-Samonte, Smart’s Community Marketing Jr. Manager, said, “This initiative aims to support learners as they accomplish academic tasks, access online resources, and stay connected throughout the school day. We want students to feel supported every time they arrive on campus.
This initiative forms part of Smart’s ongoing programs that help enhance digital learning environments and strengthen community partnerships in education—contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
