JAECOO’s J7 PHEV records 1,353 km range during long-distance challenge

The J7 PHEV reached a maximum combined range of 1,353 km while using its full fuel tank power and fully-charged electric battery. The model displayed impressive fuel efficiency, consuming just 3.3 liters per 100 km.

Proving its leadership in the off-road ready PHEV segment, JAECOO Philippines announced that its newest hybrid electric model, the J7 PHEV, covered 1,353 kilometers and surpassed its 1,200 km published range during its long-distance test drive at the recently concluded 2024 OMODA & JAECOO International User Summit held in Wuhu, China.

The brand’s user summit is an annual gathering of more than 2,000 participants composed of dealers, suppliers, car users, and media from different parts of the world. Organized by OMODA & JAECOO in partnership with their parent company Chery Automobile, the summit is held every October to exhibit the brand’s global achievements and plans in green, intelligent, sustainable development.

The J7 PHEV long-distance challenge is part of this year’s global conference, testing the new model’s fuel and pure-electric functionalities. The parameters for the long-distance challenge were set to replicate the actual usage conditions. The test vehicle carried 3-4 passengers, increasing  its weight and adding difficulty to the challenge. To test the vehicle’s fuel-powered mode, the J7 PHEV traversed urban streets and highways for 2 days and one night from Guangzhou to Wuhu, China without refueling. The vehicle also maintained a depleted state to test its fuel consumption.

In its pure electric mode, the hybrid EV achieved a distance of 125.2 km, surpassing its published range of 90 km, with an actual achievement rate of 139%. The J7 PHEV also displayed excellent acceleration performance with smooth power output, delivering powerful performance from a standstill and easily navigating through city traffic. The interior remained free of noise, offering a peaceful driving experience. The long-distance test enabled the brand to set a new milestone for zero-emission transportation.

The J7 PHEV’s superior road performance is powered by its SHS or Super Hybrid System. This globally advanced system offers users unparalleled thermal efficiency, extended range, low carbon emissions, and high battery safety. This system integrates efficiency, energy conservation, environmental protection, and safety, helping users overcome range anxiety while guaranteeing an excellent driving experience.

“The J7 PHEV is another innovation engineered with our global automotive engineering DNA. The successful completion of this challenge represents our firm commitment to green travel, demonstrating advancements in battery energy density, motor efficiency, and vehicle design optimization, while fully validating the J7 PHEV’s capabilities in electric driving. We cannot wait to bring this new model to the Philippines in the near future,” said Terry Hu, Country Director of OMODA and JAECOO Motors Philippines.

The J7 PHEV will soon be available in the Philippines. Interested buyers may check out this link on how to pre-order and test-drive this model.
