Another day, another player wants to enter the already-crowded mobile phone industry.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Chinese <\/span>startup ZUK, backed by Lenovo, launched its first smartphone,<\/span> the Z<\/span>1.\u00a0The unit<\/span> features a <\/span>fingerprint sensor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor<\/span>, 64GB eMMC storage, 4100mAh battery and a <\/span>USB 3.0 Type-C\u00a0port<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ZUK Z1 has\u00a0<\/span>a unique variant of the Android home button, the <\/span>U-Touch,\u00a0with <\/span>its <\/span>fingerprint sensor, c<\/span>ombining home, back, menu, app switching and multi-tasking<\/span> into one single button.\u00a0The U-Touch has <\/span>a 508 DPI low-power fingerprint sensor offering 0.31s identification speed with high accuracy. U-Touch comes equipped with TEE certification environment in chip’s TrustZone.\u00a0T<\/span>he fingerprint sensor\u00a0enables secure e-payment<\/span>\u00a0via e-payment methods, including <\/span>Alipay and JD Wallet.<\/p>\n

ZUK Z1’s standard edition offers 64GB storage\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a04100mAh polymer battery. Recharging the phone\u00a0for <\/span>5-minutes w<\/span>ill enable 120-minutes of<\/span>\u00a0talk time. O<\/span>ptimization\u00a0extends\u00a0<\/span>battery life\u00a0by another 20% above average<\/span>.<\/p>\n

ZUK Z1 is the world’s first mobile phone supporting USB 3.0 Type-C, enabling a 500MB\/s bandwidth, 10 times faster than USB 2.0. With USB OTG, Z1 can even be used to power other mobile phones.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, w<\/span>ith Qualcomm’s flagship platform, Z1 supports Dual SIM Dual Standby, and users do not need to identify the primary and secondary SIM cards when mounting<\/span> them.<\/p>\n

<\/b>Z1 comes assembled with a 13-million-pixel stacked CMOS rear camera and professional OIS optical image stabilization system with Largent lenses. It takes only 0.5s to be ready for use, and\u00a0<\/span>focus completes in 0.3 seconds. The 8 million-pixel front camera with a large aperture of f\/2.2 and pixel size of 1.4–<\/span>\u03bcm delivers clearer selfies. B<\/span>uilt-in\u00a0photo-retouching <\/span>brings out the best in any image.<\/p>\n

<\/b>ZUI is a highly customized user interface designed by ZUK based on Android 5.1.1. The designers took the picture frame concept a step further and re-designed the unique lock screen.<\/p>\n

The ZUI comes with 1,500+ redesigned icons best fitting Z<\/span>UI’s “simplicity is beauty” concept. It handles S<\/span>MS from public services vendors in\u00a0a\u00a0<\/span>way to simplify text reading.
