The new contactless payment option lets passengers head straight to designated Fast Lanes without purchasing or reloading a ticket, making rail travel quicker and more convenient.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The launch expands the cashless payment options available to LRT-2 passengers, which include mobile NFC payments, credit, debit and prepaid cards, and GCash Commute QR. For Mastercard cardholders, the capability allows them to use the cards and mobile wallets they already carry to move through station entry points more efficiently, while benefiting from the security of contactless payments.<\/p>\n<p>The rollout marks another step in expanding contactless transit payments across Metro Manila. It also reflects the continued collaboration among transit authorities, financial institutions, and payment technology providers to modernize fare collection, enhance the safety and security of transit payments and make public transportation more accessible.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Public transportation is part of everyday life for millions of Filipinos, and paying for a ride should be just as effortless. Each transaction is backed by Mastercard&#8217;s advanced security features, helping protect cardholders while delivering a fast and reliable payment experience.<\/p>\n<p>Mastercard has helped enable open-loop transit payments in cities around the world, allowing commuters to pay directly with their existing bank cards or eligible mobile devices instead of purchasing separate transit tickets.
