{"id":73581,"date":"2026-03-25T10:07:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T02:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=73581"},"modified":"2026-03-25T10:07:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T02:07:09","slug":"maya-rolls-out-rebates-to-support-families-receiving-remittances-from-the-middle-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2026\/03\/25\/maya-rolls-out-rebates-to-support-families-receiving-remittances-from-the-middle-east\/","title":{"rendered":"Maya rolls out rebates to support families receiving remittances from the Middle East"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>As developments continue across parts of the Middle East, Maya is extending support to Filipino families in the Philippines who rely on remittances from loved ones working in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From March 23 to April\u00a010, 2026, Maya users who receive remittances from selected Middle East countries\u2014including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan\u2014can unlock a set of transaction rebates designed to help them access and use their funds more easily.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith many overseas Filipinos in the Middle East supporting their families back home, we aim to make it easier for households to access and make the most of these remittances by reducing everyday transaction costs,\u201d said\u00a0Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder.<\/p>\n<p>The Middle East\u00a0remains\u00a0one of the Philippines\u2019 most important remittance corridors\u2014home to an estimated 2.4 million Filipinos based on data from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and contributing over USD 6.4 billion in remittances in 2025 based on preliminary data from the\u00a0Bangko\u00a0Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).\u00a0Maya&#8217;s initiative focuses on reducing everyday financial costs that remittance-receiving families often incur when accessing or distributing funds sent from abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible Maya users who activate Maya XP will receive the following rebates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ATM withdrawals:\u00a0ATM withdrawal rebates,\u00a0\u20b118 credited back per transaction<\/li>\n<li>InstaPay\u00a0transfers:\u00a0InstaPay\u00a0bank transfer rebates,\u00a0\u20b115 credited back per transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to these rebates, eligible users may also enjoy\u00a0cashback on mobile load purchases,\u00a0ranging from 1% to 3% depending on their Maya XP level.\u00a0This allows families to stay connected with loved ones working abroad while stretching the value of remittances further.<\/p>\n<p>Users become eligible when they\u00a0receive remittances into their Maya account from the following Middle East countries:\u00a0Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving a qualifying remittance, eligible users will receive an invitation to activate Maya XP, typically within 1 to 3 days.\u00a0Eligible users can activate their Maya XP directly within the Maya app by accessing the Maya XP section\u00a0in\u00a0the Wallet Dashboard or Profile page and completing the quick \u201cGet started\u201d process, including providing the required consent.<\/p>\n<p>Once activated, users can\u00a0immediately\u00a0begin enjoying rebates on eligible transactions. Rebates are automatically applied when\u00a0users\u00a0complete eligible ATM withdrawals or\u00a0InstaPay\u00a0transfers. The corresponding cashback is credited to the user\u2019s Maya wallet on the same day the transaction is made.<\/p>\n<p>Maya XP is a feature in the Maya app that enables users to unlock\u00a0additional\u00a0benefits as they engage more actively with their accounts. By using everyday financial services such as payments, transfers and savings, users can progress through levels and access corresponding rewards. The feature supports Maya\u2019s broader financial health efforts by encouraging consistent and responsible use of digital financial tools.
