on gaming and photography-focused smartphones, but <a href=\"https:\/\/csimarket.com\/stocks\/competitionSEG2.php?code=NUBI\">it has been growing continuously<\/a> \u2013 i.e. its Neo series experienced over 300% growth in H1 2025, and it holds a 39% share in the specialized gaming segment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And then you come across the nubia V80 Max, and you sort of understand box, the nubia V80 Max looks\u2026 big, with its 6.9-inch HD+ screen. It is fortunate, nonetheless, that this unit is actually light; meaning, holding this somewhat thin unit won\u2019t tire your hand that easily.<\/p>\n<p>One thing I noticed is the unit\u2019s seemingly \u201cboxy\u201d design, although \u2013 fortunately \u2013 its edges aren\u2019t disturbingly squarish. This helps in the comfy gripping of nubia V80 Max.<\/p>\n<p>All the buttons are where they\u2019re supposed to be \u2013 e.g. power button that\u2019s also a fingerprint scanner at the right side, along with the volume control buttons; and nano-SIM and memory card tray is at the left side. A must-mention is the .5mm headphone port at the bottom of the unit, emphasizing the return of the wired accessories.<\/p>\n<p>Oh\u2026 this needs mentioning: We got the \u201cSky Cyan\u201d color variant (which is, basically, baby blue), and it looks\u2026 fresh, even if the front screen can be a handprint magnet.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>POWER UP<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Setting up the nubia V80 Max was fast \u2013 i.e. it didn\u2019t take that long from the power on to the set-up completion. Aside from processor (Unisoc T7250 Octa-Core, 1.8GHz), this may also be because the setting up was truncated (that it, there weren\u2019t too many \u201cquestion\u201d asked). OOTB, you get MyOS 16 based on Android W as OS.<\/p>\n<p>When turned on, among the first thing you\u2019d notice is the brightness of the unit. You can change this in the setting, obviously; but upon start, the glare is noticeable.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing noticed: The phone\u2019s lower part bezel is somewhat thick; it was, at least, noticeable when we turned on the phone, and then just forgotten when we started using already<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t notice lags while navigating the phone, so it helps that the units as 16 (8+8)GB RAM + 128GB ROM.<\/p>\n<p>Now\u2026 closing in on what you see onscreen, it\u2019s good to emphasize that the screen was crisp (1640\u00d7720), so that details were apparent\/not pixelated. Indeed: Just because this one\u2019s affordable doesn\u2019t mean you are stuck with something cheap-looking\/performing.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>CAM POWER<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With nubia V80 Max, you get:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rear Cameras: 50MP AI triple camera<\/li>\n<li>Front Camera: 16MP front-facing camera<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, to be expected in gadgets now, there are must-check features, some using AI \u2013 e.g. Gesture Snap (V-sign or open palm for selfies), Dynamic Image for capturing motion, and AI Filters for various scenes.<\/p>\n<p>Truth be told, the pics we took were:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Crisp \u2013 i.e. the details were \u201cthere\u201d, such as the grime on the photo we took of a wall with graffiti;<\/li>\n<li>Not <em>kalat ang<\/em> color\u2026 particularly outdoor, as well as when shots are close-up \u2013 e.g. we took shots of a basketball court turned into some sort of bodega in Palanan in Makati City, and the capturing of what we saw was precise; and pics of veggies in Palanan market were (similarly) precise<\/li>\n<li>Graininess was noticeable in long shots in darker areas \u2013 e.g. a photo of the inside of Palanan market showed obvious graininess<\/li>\n<li>Depth of field worked \u2013 e.g. we took shots of packed <em>tuyo<\/em> (dried fish) in Palanan market, and, yes, they worked as
