{"id":69097,"date":"2025-04-05T10:11:48","date_gmt":"2025-04-05T02:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=69097"},"modified":"2025-04-01T10:14:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T02:14:17","slug":"globe-business-collaborates-with-aora-to-drive-the-rapid-adoption-of-open-ran-technology-in-ph","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2025\/04\/05\/globe-business-collaborates-with-aora-to-drive-the-rapid-adoption-of-open-ran-technology-in-ph\/","title":{"rendered":"Globe Business collaborates with\u00a0AORA\u00a0to drive the rapid adoption of Open RAN technology in PH"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globe.com.ph\/business\">Globe Business<\/a>, the ICT arm of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globe.com.ph\/\">Globe Telecom<\/a>, collaborates with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asiaopenranacademy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asia Open RAN Academy (AORA)<\/a>\u00a0to drive the rapid adoption of Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) technology in the Philippines, which is transforming the telecom industry by driving interoperability and vendor diversity to cut costs, enhance network performance, and increase efficiency.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chaired by Achie Atienza, Director for IP Ecosystem, Strategic Infrastructure Investments at Globe Telecom Inc., this collaboration aims to reshape the country&#8217;s telecom infrastructure by promoting innovation, improving connectivity, and developing a skilled workforce to support the future of telecom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Globe Business is fully dedicated to this initiative, hosting AORA\u2019s two recent events at The Globe Tower to encourage collaboration and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globe.com.ph\/about-us\/newsroom\/business\/globe-business-aora-acad-2025\">Collaborators Appreciation Day (ACAD)<\/a>, held on December 19, celebrated AORA\u2019s progress in 2024, recognizing the contributions of major partners and outlining the roadmap for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the Strategic and Operational Planning event, held on January 16, focused on aligning academic programs with the needs of the Open RAN industry. Several state universities and colleges, alongside partners like VIAVI Solutions, discussed how to address the skills gap and prepare a workforce for Open RAN\u2019s growth. AORA is also working closely with Globe\u2019s network team to accelerate the adoption of Open RAN technology. As a founding member and active contributor to the academy, Globe plays an important role in driving changes by providing resources and expertise to support these efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are committed to not only adopting Open RAN technology but also nurturing the talent and ecosystem needed to sustain and advance this initiative.
