Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation has formally introduced to the local technology media the company’s slimmest Android phone to date, the Galaxy Alpha, the first Galaxy smartphone to come with a metal frame.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The design of the Galaxy Alpha is relatively new compared to the look and feel of Samsung\u2019s existing products, which come in a plastic case. The phone isn\u2019t entirely metal though, the back is made of polycarbonate and has inherited the dimpled design of the Galaxy S5.<\/p>\n

Powered by Samsung\u2019s own Exynos octacore processor (Quad 1.8GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) with 2GB RAM, the phone comes with 32GB internal storage. For additional storage, users will have to resort to cloud storage services as the Alpha does not support microSD.<\/p>\n

Priced at Php29,990, the phone has a 4.7-inch 1280\u00d7720 Super HD AMOLED display, is just 6.7mm thick and weighs in at 115g.<\/p>\n

Underneath the back cover is a 1860mAh battery which can be efficiently consumed with the phone’s Ultra Power Saving Mode.<\/p>\n

The Alpha has two cameras: a 12MP rear and a secondary 2.1MP front-facing camera. Camera modes include HDR, Panorama, Selective Focus, Dual Camera, Beauty Face, Virtual Tour and others.<\/p>\n

Software features like Download Booster, Quick Connect and Private Mode are also present. There\u2019s support for LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0. Sensors include an gyro, geomagnetic, hall, light, proximity, gesture and HR. An accelerometer is present onboard as well.<\/p>\n

In the Philippines, the Galaxy Alpha is available in four colors: Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold and Sleek Silver.<\/p>\n
