Chosen MIE Experts will get the chance to represent the country in the upcoming Microsoft in Education Global Forum.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Year-on-year Microsoft welcomes visionary educators to join a global community of educators who are passionate about the use of technology through the Microsoft Innovative Educator Program.<\/p>\n<p>Selected MIE Experts are tasked to build opportunities for using technology in teaching and improving student learning. They also serve as advisors for Microsoft and educational institutions as wellas advocates at conferences, events and trainings.<\/p>\n<p>AsMIE Experts, educators can expect free Microsoft tools and technology, professional development, and thought leadership opportunities through speaking engagements, case studies and content development. Most importantly, they get the chance to represent the Philippines in the annual Microsoft in Education Global Forum.<\/p>\n<p>MIE Experts Ernani Fernandez of Palo National High School and Zoilo Pinongcos Jr. of Leganes National High School were chosen to represent Philippines in this year\u2019s forum in Barcelona, Spain. Ernani Fernandez made the country proud by grabbing the top prize in the forum\u2019s Learn-a-thon competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMicrosoft Innovative Educator Program and the Global Forum have enabled me to see countless possibilities on how Filipino teachers like me can improve learning in the classroom and engage students to realize their full potential using technology. My life has literally changed and I hope to be an inspiration to more teachers so that we can touch and transform the lives of more and more students,\u201d Ernani Fernandez of Palo National High School in Leyte.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Microsoft, we believe in the power of technology and impact of educators in building 21st century skills for students. We need MIE Experts their holistic approach to teaching to see how we can effectively integrate technology and enable change in the education space,\u201d Clarissa Segismundo, Education Programs Lead, Microsoft Philippines. \u201cBy becoming MIE Experts, they join a community of educators who have helped over 190 million students and shaped the future of education around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aspiring MIE Experts are required to visit the Microsoft Educator Network page, create their profiles, and submit a learning activity which is typically a project-based or inquiry-based activity that exemplifies the use of 21st century teaching practices.
