{"id":65761,"date":"2024-09-10T16:07:40","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T08:07:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=65761"},"modified":"2024-09-10T16:07:42","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T08:07:42","slug":"brawl-stars-partners-with-nickelodeons-spongebob-squarepants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2024\/09\/10\/brawl-stars-partners-with-nickelodeons-spongebob-squarepants\/","title":{"rendered":"Brawl Stars partners with Nickelodeon\u2019s SpongeBob SquarePants"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Brawl Stars<\/em>, one of the world\u2019s most popular mobile games, has partnered with Nickelodeon\u2019s <em>SpongeBob SquarePants<\/em> to mark the show\u2019s 25th anniversary by reimagining the world of Bikini Bottom inside the game.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/supercell.com\/en\/\">Supercell<\/a>, the developers of <em>Brawl Stars<\/em>, identified <em>SpongeBob SquarePants<\/em> as the perfect fit for the game\u2019s humourous, high-energy action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the takeover, iconic <em>SpongeBob SquarePants<\/em> characters have been reimagined as Brawlers, including a muscle-bound El Primo SpongeBob and other fan-favourites such as Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward and Sandy. Brawls will take place on the new Bikini Bottom game map and special, temporary power-ups will provide increased damage, like the Krabby Patty, Clarinet and Kelp Soda. Meanwhile, themed game modes bring fresh gameplay and chaos, such as in Jellyfishing where players battle to catch\u2026you guessed it, jellyfish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Supercell has teamed up with John Cena to helm its hilarious launch commercial. Known for his prowess in the wrestling ring, Cena brings his signature energy and charisma to the commercial, where he\u2019s seen relaxing on a yacht and enjoying a session of <em>Brawl Stars<\/em> when his phone falls into the ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John Cena said: <em>\u201cAs a long time fan of Supercell games and having watched SpongeBob for years, there was definitely a nostalgic component that drew me to the partnership. SpongeBob inside Brawl Stars is absolutely wild and I\u2019m all for it &#8211; it\u2019s the epic entertainment tag team fans have been waiting for!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Frank Keienburg, Brawl Stars General Manager, said: <em>\u201cBringing SpongeBob into the world of Brawl Stars has been on our radar for a while. The worlds of Bikini Bottom and Starr Park complement each other well and considering our community\u2019s love for SpongeBob memes, we were confident our players would like to see a collab happen!
