{"id":59159,"date":"2023-10-17T00:06:41","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T16:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=59159"},"modified":"2023-10-17T00:06:43","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T16:06:43","slug":"converge-ceo-urges-pampanga-biz-to-digitalize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2023\/10\/17\/converge-ceo-urges-pampanga-biz-to-digitalize\/","title":{"rendered":"Converge CEO urges Pampanga biz to digitalize"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy advised Pampanga businesses to look to digitalization to further boost their growth, especially as the company\u2019s young and modern fiber network has long been established in Central Luzon.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the Mexico Chamber of Commerce on October 2, 2023 during the chamber\u2019s investors\u2019 night, Uy highlighted the benefits of digitalization and the availability of infrastructure especially in their region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is estimated that digital technologies have the potential to create an annual economic value of Php 5 trillion or US$ 101.3 billion. But what\u2019s important to note here is the fact that in order to achieve all these, we must have the correct infrastructure in place,\u201d said Uy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fiber network of Converge now has a 670,000-kilometer fiber backbone. As of the end of June 2023, the fiber broadband provider\u2019s network infrastructure has passed over 16.6 million Filipino homes, equivalent to 62.3 percent of household coverage nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this extensive network that spans nationwide, Converge has leveraged its fiber technology to serve the sectors of education, government, healthcare, financial services, and entertainment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe President mandates that 95% of government services should be digital. There\u2019s so much opportunity for e-services, and the likes of the Bureau of Immigration can benefit from this. There could be an electronic court system also in the judiciary,\u201d noted Uy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uy said Pampanga businesses may take advantage of these digital innovations especially as Mexico will be the site of Uy\u2019s personal project, the Tech City.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tech City is a 200-hectare digital hub slated to rise in Mexico, Pampanga, and the realization of Uy\u2019s dream to see \u2018an entire ecosystem of innovation\u2019 in the country. Uy targets the city to attract the largest IT companies in the world, and the best ICT talent in the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Tech City will host the largest data center in the region, corporate headquarters, housing facilities, and an events area. We hope that leading tech companies can make the Tech City its home in the Philippines,\u201d said Uy.&nbsp; The Mexico Investors\u2019 Night, led by Chamber President Nestor Mangio, was attended by Mexico Mayor Rudencio \u201cRuding\u201d Gonzales, Congresswoman Janette Garin of Iloilo\u2019s 1st District, Congressman Aurelio \u201cDong\u201d Gonzales, and Vice Mayor Site Siron.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The fiber network of Converge now has a 670,000-kilometer fiber backbone.
