Pointwest Technologies Corporation, a fully Filipino-owned IT-BPM company, will be one of the exhibitors during the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) that will be held this July 24 to 28 at the SMX of SM Mall of Asia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pointwest has\u00a0 augmented its core IT services of Application Development, Application Management and Independent Software Testing, extending these services to the Digital SMAC platform \u2013 Cloud and Mobility. These will be showcased during the NSTW.<\/p>\n

Among the new service lines include mobile strategy consulting, application design and development, conversion from iOS to Android and vice versa and independent mobile app testing.<\/p>\n

Pointwest also offers its Cloud DRP Solutions and Services, as well as Analytics services for a framework that helps you assess, process and derive business values from your enterprise data.<\/p>\n

Pointwest can also migrate legacy applications, optimizing it for the cloud and mobile platform, especially for applications you wish to be asset light.<\/p>\n

Cristina \u201cBeng\u201d Coronel, President of Pointwest, said. \u201cThe NSTW allows us to showcase how far we, as a fully Filipino-owned firm has gone with that belief.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coronel said that, ironically, the services of a homegrown IT-BPM company like Pointwest are more recognized and valued abroad than it is in the Philippines. For more than 10 years, Pointwest has been providing services to top Fortune 500 companies, including a top US airline, a large US retail company, a Pharmacy Benefit Management company and a big media company.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Coronel lamented the fact that government agencies often get foreign IT firms for their projects, when local talent is readily available.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were also instances when a big local conglomerate got a foreign IT firm as their vendor for major local IT projects,\u201d Ms. Coronel said. \u201cIt\u2019s sad because right here, we have people who can do it just as good as the foreign partner, if not better.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NSTW is one of the major local science and technology exhibitions. It is organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), which promises that this year\u2019s NSTW, which occupies the entire SMX for the first time, will be the biggest yet. Some 50,000 students, academics, professionals, government officials and business owners are expected to attend the five-day event.<\/p>\n
