Meanwhile, Converge President and Co-Founder Maria Grace Uy was shortlisted for the Woman in Telecoms Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are honored to have been shortlisted for the Best Operator in an Emerging Market Award. This means a lot to us as it affirms our efforts in offering world-class internet service to Filipinos. We are grateful for this nomination, and this makes us more motivated to continue our mission of fiber-powering the Philippines,\u201d said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m beyond grateful to be recognized alongside outstanding women from global organizations in this year\u2019s World Communications Awards. I would also like to express my appreciation to the WCA for acknowledging the role of women leaders, especially in a male-dominated industry such as telecommunications,\u201d said Converge President Maria Grace Uy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These WCA nominations signify that Converge has gotten a nod from WCA\u2019s panel of over 90 judges and it has beaten hundreds of competitors around the globe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Established in 1999, WCA is the industry\u2019s most prestigious award which recognizes executives, operators, and startups that have proven their excellence in the rapidly evolving communications ecosystem.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s iteration was said to be its fiercest competition to date, with entries worldwide battling to be the best of the best. It is organized by Total Telecom, an independent network specialist company that provides the information and expert needs of the global communications industry.
