For 65-year-old Bai Canaya and her family, life in Cotabato City before PLDT consisted of having to travel via jeepneys or cross rivers just to get in touch with friends and loved ones.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When they finally subscribed to the telco\u2019s services some 14 years ago \u2013 first, a landline, and eventually, an internet connection, she was very happy because her children and grandchildren no longer had to travel far to access resources for school and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Cotabato is home to thousands of PLDT Home customers. \u201cI am very satisfied with PLDT,\u201d Mrs. Canaya said. \u201cWe use PLDT\u2019s services to communicate with our relatives who are working overseas and our loved ones who are based in Manila.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Home broadband has remained essential as Filipinos continue to embrace the hybrid model of working and studying in the new normal. In the first half of 2022, PLDT Home\u2019s revenues increased by 24% to P28.1 billion, on the back of continued strong customer demand and unparalleled network quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This rings true in the experience of Mrs. Canaya and her family. \u201cOur whole family uses the internet simultaneously, but our connection is stable. My grandchildren use it for their online classes, the rest of the members use it for social media and YouTube. Our CCTV is also connected to the internet,\u201d she shared. \u201cThat is why I am very thankful to PLDT because they give the right service to customers like us,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith our customers in mind, we continue to introduce products that are based on the needs of our customers, such as speedboosts, Fiber plans, wifi mesh, among others. We hope to serve the good people of Cotabato and the rest of the country with services that can support their needs beyond broadband connectivity,\u201d said Jeremiah de la Cruz, Head, Consumer Business Group &#8212; Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first half of the year, PLDT\u2019s total fiber capacity further increased by 16% to 6.72 million ports, as homes passed grew 17% to 16.2 million. In the first half of the year, PLDT added 950,000 ports out of the total 1.7 million target for the full year. PLDT\u2019s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) is present in 65% of the country\u2019s cities and municipalities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PLDT Home was also recognized as the fastest broadband in the Philippines by Ookla.
