Rosa, Jupiter Cable system boost PH hyperscale ecosystem"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Global data show that the Philippines is\u00a0becoming one of the most promising hubs in Asia Pacific for hyperscale investments, due to its favorable business climate, accelerated cloud adoption, demographic shifts to hybrid working, long-term government strategy, and sustainability efforts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the recent Hyperscale Readiness and Capacity Outlook of the Philippines webinar, Jabez Tan,&nbsp;Head&nbsp;of Research&nbsp;for&nbsp;independent research firm Structure Research, stated that the country is expected to expand its data center capacity exponentially with the recent announcement of new hyperscale facilities designed to cater to the incoming demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Philippine data center colocation market is estimated to be worth $134 million this year. The sector will grow steadily at a 25% CAGR through 2027, mostly driven by the hyperscale market,\u201d said Tan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anticipating the demand, PLDT, through its ICT arm ePLDT, is leading the capacity build&nbsp;with&nbsp;the construction of its 11<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and largest hyperscale data center to date. VITRO Sta. Rosa&nbsp;is the first in a series of data center builds totaling a power capacity of 100MW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe continue to build new facilities to serve the market demand that comes with the digitalization of the country while expanding our capacities in existing sites such as VITRO Makati 2, Paranaque, and Clark,\u201d said Amil Azurin, PLDT Enterprise VP and Head of Product Management for the Disruptive Business Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the country gears up its data center capacity, the need to boost the international network that connects to these facilities subsequently follows. Gary Ignacio, PLDT Enterprise VP and Head of Strategic Business Development Group, explained that the PLDT Group\u2019s latest investment in the Jupiter Cable System supplements the upcoming VITRO Sta. Rosa, as both world-class infrastructures&nbsp;further&nbsp;reinforce&nbsp;the country as APAC\u2019s next hyperscaler hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJupiter is now the fastest cable system between the Philippines and the US. It will fortify&nbsp;the&nbsp;international cable network diversity for the country and triple PLDT\u2019s existing international network capacity to about 60 Terabit\/s while directing massive data to PLDT\u2019s network of data centers,\u201d said Ignacio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPLDT commits to a world-class hyperscale ecosystem for the country.
