(PSE:CNVRG) was proclaimed Broadband Telecom Company of the Year in the Philippines at the Asian Telecom Awards 2022 for the remarkable achievements and initiatives it has made in the preceding year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an interview with Simon Hyatt, contributing editor of the Asian Business Review magazine, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge Dennis Anthony Uy accepted the prestigious award with a word of gratitude.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are so thankful to be recognized in this manner,\u201d Mr. Uy shared. \u201cThis award is a great validation of our goal to connect the underserved and unserved areas in the country, and we will continue on to reach more Filipinos and give them world class broadband connectivity. This is our lifelong promise and mission.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Asian Telecom Awards 2022 honored firms who were able to overcome significant market obstacles while providing their clients with award-winning, relevant products and services. The awards program, which began in 2003 with Asian Mobile News, aims to honor premier telco companies that have pioneered ground-breaking products and solutions in the preceding year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As one of Asia\u2019s leading telecommunication companies, Converge continues to break barriers as it claims its rightful spot as forerunner of the Philippine broadband internet industry, a sector once dominated by only two players.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company\u2019s rapid growth took shape at the height of the pandemic as it answered to consumers\u2019 increased demand for high-speed internet connection for remote work, online education, and entertainment during a time of community quarantines targeted at halting the spread of COVID-19.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cConnectivity is a lifeline for many people and businesses. Thus, having fast, reliable access should not just be a privilege of a few, but should be a right of every Filipino, regardless of economic standing,\u201d added Mr. Uy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Converge has since made various efforts to improve the quality of the Filipino\u2019s digital experience in pursuit of its goal to serve the underserved and unserved areas of the country.
