{"id":4622,"date":"2014-04-11T10:57:07","date_gmt":"2014-04-11T02:57:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=4622"},"modified":"2014-04-11T11:06:28","modified_gmt":"2014-04-11T03:06:28","slug":"alliance-help-eligible-start-ups-expand-new-markets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2014\/04\/11\/alliance-help-eligible-start-ups-expand-new-markets\/","title":{"rendered":"Alliance to help start-ups expand into new markets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Start-ups in the Philippines will now get more help entering new markets across the Asia-Pacific region, with the launch of Innov8 Sparks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A first of its kind alliance in the region by the SingTel Group and its regional mobile associates, Innov8 Sparks will provide assistance to eligible start-ups to expand outside their respective home markets, into Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>The founding members of Innov8 Sparks are SingTel Innov8, AIS The Startup, Kickstart Ventures by Globe, Optus-Innov8 Seed, and Telkomsel \u201cTeman-Dev\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited about the launch of Innov8 Sparks, which will help start-ups supported by our programmes to expand beyond their home markets into the SingTel Group footprint,&#8221; said Edgar Hardless, CEO, SingTel Innov8.<\/p>\n<p>Dustin Cheng, CEO of ZAP, added \u201cEntering new markets is especially hard for a start-up. ZAP has benefited from new connections to both investors and partners provided by Kickstart Ventures and other members of Innov8 Sparks. Many other start-ups will now be able to experience these benefits too.\u201d\u00a0 ZAP is a rewards platform in the Philippines that was successfully launched last year with the support of Globe\u2019s Kickstart Ventures.<\/p>\n<p>Start-ups in the Innov8 Sparks programme will have access to working space, introductions to local partners and start-up communities, as well as local market information and resources.
