{"id":45623,"date":"2021-09-27T19:22:15","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T11:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=45623"},"modified":"2021-09-27T19:22:17","modified_gmt":"2021-09-27T11:22:17","slug":"smart-reaffirms-5g-leadership-as-phls-most-reliable-5g-mobile-operator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2021\/09\/27\/smart-reaffirms-5g-leadership-as-phls-most-reliable-5g-mobile-operator\/","title":{"rendered":"Smart reaffirms 5G leadership as Phl&#8217;s most reliable 5G mobile operator"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Smart Communications, Inc (Smart) continues to lead the 5G revolution in the Philippines as it clinches the \u2018Most Reliable 5G Mobile Operator\u2019 award in the latest report by Ookla, the global leader in internet testing and analysis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this recognition, Smart obtained the highest scores in 5G Consistency and 5G Availability based on Ookla\u2019s Speedtest Intelligence data in Q2 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ookla notes that 5G Consistency is calculated based on the percentage of a provider\u2019s users that meet minimum download and upload speeds, while 5G Availability identifies the network whose users spend the highest percent of their time on 5G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Consistent and available 5G network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart topped 5G Consistency with a score of 89.78 percent versus Globe\u2019s 78.15 percent. Smart also led in 5G Availability with a score of 14.67 percent versus Globe\u2019s 11.86 percent<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis claim recognizes Smart commitment to delivering best reliability to their customers across the Philippines,\u201d said Ookla CEO Doug Suttles in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCitations like this only attest to the superior customer experience we provide our subscribers as the 5G pioneer in the Philippines. These also inspire us to keep getting better and faster so our customers can live the Giga Life and pursue their passions in our increasingly digitized world,\u201d said Jane J. Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Philippines&#8217; fastest 5G network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to this, Ookla also cited Smart as Philippines\u2019 Fastest 5G Mobile Network in Q1-Q2 2021**, with median download and upload speeds that are twice as fast as its closest rival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart led in download speeds with 220.66 Mbps versus Globe\u2019s 103.22 Mbps.
