A\u00a0March 2020\u00a0survey at the beginning of the pandemic, showed that that video gamers in\u00a0the US\u00a0reported that they spent 45% more time playing video games amid the quarantine than in the previous week\u2026 that number has surely grown over the subsequent year of quarantine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esports is another emerging industry that manages to make more than a billion dollars a year. Now, after the pandemic, it has gained further traction. A recent look at the US Online Gaming Industry by Statista\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/topics\/1551\/online-gaming\/\" target=\"_blank\">came up with a number of statistics and facts<\/a>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Revenue in the Online Games segment is projected to reach\u00a0US$23,582 Million\u00a0in 2021;<\/li><li>Revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2021-2025) of 7.36%, resulting in a projected market volume of\u00a0US$31,328 Million\u00a0by 2025; <\/li><li>User penetration will be 14.6% in 2021 and is expected to hit 16.4% by 2025; <\/li><li>The average revenue per user (ARPU) is expected to amount to\u00a0US$21.49Million; and <\/li><li>In global comparison, most revenue will be generated in\u00a0China\u00a0(US$5,599Million\u00a0in 2021).\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Active tech companies in the markets this week include\u00a0Versus Systems Inc.,\u00a0Caesars Entertainment, Inc.,\u00a0Electronic Arts Inc.,\u00a0Zynga Inc.,\u00a0Activision Blizzard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report continued: &#8220;The global media and entertainment market has consistently been on the rise. The entire worldwide market is projected to grow\u2026 to\u00a0$2.2 trillion by 2021. Gaming is an integral and ever-developing segment of this market. The two largest gaming regions,\u00a0Asia Pacific\u00a0and\u00a0North America, are predicted to (continue to) account for 78% of global revenues\u2026 Online gaming in particular is one of the branches that has evolved over the past decades. It includes social gaming, mobile gaming, as well as free-to-play and pay-to-play massively multiplayer gaming, otherwise known as MMO gaming.
