{"id":42437,"date":"2021-03-30T08:52:59","date_gmt":"2021-03-30T00:52:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=42437"},"modified":"2021-03-30T08:53:03","modified_gmt":"2021-03-30T00:53:03","slug":"apples-independent-repair-provider-program-expands-globally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2021\/03\/30\/apples-independent-repair-provider-program-expands-globally\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple\u2019s Independent Repair Provider program expands globally"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Apple\u2019s Independent Repair Provider program will soon be available in more than 200 countries, nearly every country where Apple products are sold. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Launched originally in 2019 and expanded to Europe and Canada last year, the program enables repair providers of all sizes access to genuine Apple parts, tools, repair manuals, and diagnostics to offer safe and reliable repairs for Apple products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are now more than 1,500 Independent Repair Provider locations serving customers across the US, Canada, and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBeing a part of the Independent Repair Provider program has been a huge benefit to my business, employees, and customers,\u201d said Scott Baker, owner of Mister Mac in Wimberley, Texas. \u201cSince joining, we\u2019ve received great support from Apple, and we\u2019re able to deliver that same level of service to our customers. It has even brought genuine excitement to our town.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Independent Repair Provider program has been a very positive experience for us and for our customers,\u201d said Nils Weber, project manager for Pro Repair GmbH in Germany. \u201cDuring COVID-19, reliable access to parts has allowed us to adapt our business to accommodate the sudden high demand for mail-in repairs from our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All participating repair providers in the program have access to free training from Apple and the same genuine parts, tools, repair manuals, and diagnostics as Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs) and Apple Store locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To verify that a company participates in the program, visit\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/repair\/verify-repair-provider\/\" target=\"_blank\">support.apple.com\/repair\/verify-repair-provider<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Apple\u2019s Expanding Repair Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple continues to offer convenient repair options for customers through its global network of over 5,000 AASPs that help millions of people with both in- and out-of-warranty service for all Apple products. This has included offering additional options for mail-in repair for customers and supporting its existing network of providers servicing customers in ways that meet health and safety guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Availability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There is no cost to join Apple\u2019s Independent Repair Provider program. To qualify, repair providers need to commit to have an Apple-certified technician to perform the repairs. The process for certification is simple and free of charge.
