{"id":37035,"date":"2019-11-12T13:45:46","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T05:45:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=37035"},"modified":"2019-11-12T13:45:47","modified_gmt":"2019-11-12T05:45:47","slug":"microsoft-office-365-announces-partnerships-to-optimize-o365-networking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2019\/11\/12\/microsoft-office-365-announces-partnerships-to-optimize-o365-networking\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Office 365 announces partnerships to optimize O365 networking"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Microsoft\u00a0announced\u00a0that the first 5 networking providers, globally, have been certified to deliver Office 365 networking &#8220;in a way that minimizes latency and maximizes performance and reliability of enterprise connectivity on Office 365 user experience&#8221;.\u00a0 This is critical because, according to Microsoft, &#8220;the most significant factor that determines the quality of the Office 365 end user experience is network reliability&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4 of the 5 Office 365 Preferred Networking Partners are very large, long-time Microsoft partners (Citrix, Zscaler, Silver Peak and NTT).&nbsp; The fifth partner, NetFoundry, is a NaaS (Network-as-a-Service), Zero Trust networking startup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Microsoft, all 5 of the partners &#8220;have met Microsoft\u2019s testing requirements&#8221; and &#8220;support a high-quality end user experience.&#8221;\u00a0 Microsoft also stated that Cisco, Oracle and Riverbed are in the midst of trying to get qualified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NetFoundry&#8217;s O365 networking optimization\u00a0solution states that\u00a0<strong>it<\/strong>\u00a0is the only one of the 5 Preferred Partners to<em>\u00a0both<\/em>\u00a0enable the lowest latency Office 365 networking (direct Internet without trombone through third party cloud infrastructure),\u00a0<em>and<\/em>\u00a0not require a specific WAN solution, instead functioning as software-only NaaS, on top of any WAN. \u00a0 The same NetFoundry Platform used for O365 optimization also enables Zero Trust, private Azure connectivity, and has both NaaS and Developer Platform options.
