{"id":36732,"date":"2019-10-08T00:10:53","date_gmt":"2019-10-07T16:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=36732"},"modified":"2019-10-08T00:10:56","modified_gmt":"2019-10-07T16:10:56","slug":"now-corp-bags-unionbank-as-its-first-banking-and-gigabit-client-for-now-fiber-air","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2019\/10\/08\/now-corp-bags-unionbank-as-its-first-banking-and-gigabit-client-for-now-fiber-air\/","title":{"rendered":"NOW Corp bags UnionBank as its first banking and gigabit client for NOW Fiber Air"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOW Corporation, a listed firm in the Philippine Stock Exchange, has entered into a multi-year agreement with UnionBank of the Philippines for the provision of broadband internet access in support of the bank\u2019s digital transformation roadmap.\u00a0\u00a0The first activated site with a 1Gbps broadband connectivity via fixed wireless is UnionBank\u2019s corporate headquarters in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement with Unionbank strengthens NOW\u2019s\nposition to provide guaranteed broadband connectivity for enterprises via its\nfixed wireless network infrastructure that it has established in Metro\nManila.&nbsp;&nbsp;NOW has pioneered \u201cFiber Air\u201d and has since then\nbecame the largest fixed wireless access (FWA) broadband provider in the\ncountry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both parties\nalso agreed to explore utilizing NOW Fiber Air for its branches and for other\nsites owned and operated by the Aboitiz-led bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOW also\nannounced today its entry in the gigabit era by providing gigabit broadband\nplans to its subscribers. The roll-out of its gigabit broadband plans will be\navailable in Metro Manila, mainly for its enterprise clients. This is made\npossible thru NOW\u2019s fixed wireless access (FWA) network infrastructure that it\nhas established by using high-capacity and proprietary radio antennas exclusive\nto NOW\u2019s access to frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNOW is proud to announce:\u00a0\u00a0We are now offering gigabit plans of guaranteed broadband internet to our subscribers. Our technology allows for it. And we will push the envelope with our high capacity fixed wireless solution\u201d said Kristian Pura, Head of Strategy for NOW Corporation. \u201cThis applies to prospective enterprise and retail subscribers. To our existing enterprise subscribers, please inquire if you desire a gigabit upgrade,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOW Corp\u2019s\npartnership with telecommunications affiliate NOW Telecom, allows for its\nPhilippine pioneering FWA infrastructure, allowing for efficient delivery of\nhigh capacity, gigabit bandwidth internet access, both scalable and easily\nrepeatable nationwide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOW\u2019s service\npositioning is its guaranteed broadband internet where advertised speeds are\ncommitted speeds to subscribers. The Company upgraded and quadrupled its\ncapacity to 2.40Gbps in 2018, with technological costs lowering, and bandwidth\ncapacity solutions increasing.
