This time, the brand\u00a0scales\u00a0up digital payment acceptance by offering\u00a0PayMaya\u00a0QR,\u00a0on top of the already existing card payment options in-store.<\/p>\n<p>The new dining and payment experiences coincide with the re-opening of McDonald\u2019<a href=\"x-apple-data-detectors:\/\/3\">s 32nd Street<\/a>, located at the corner of <a href=\"x-apple-data-detectors:\/\/4\">32nd Street<\/a> and 5th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. McDonald\u2019s NXTGEN offers customers the convenience of multi-point ordering. Most noticeably, the Self-Ordering Kiosks, allows customers a digitized alternative to order and pay for their McDonald\u2019s favorites, providing a more seamless transaction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve received great feedback from customers about McDonald\u2019s NXTGEN. They have noticed the elevated dining experience that it offers, which is why we are bullish about continuing its roll out to more parts of the country. With our expanded collaboration with\u00a0PayMaya\u00a0through QR payments on top of card acceptance in our stores, we\u00a0are able to\u00a0offer another convenient way for our customers to pay for their favorites,\u201d said\u00a0McDonald\u2019s Philippines President and CEO Kenneth S. Yang.<\/p>\n<p>Paying via\u00a0PayMaya\u00a0QR is initially available at\u00a0select stores in Bonifacio Global City\u00a0in Taguig, with availability in\u00a0all\u00a0stores\u00a0accepting cashless payments\u00a0anticipated\u00a0within the next month.<\/p>\n<p>The renewed partnership expands on an earlier collaboration which enabled McDonald\u2019s to accept Visa, Mastercard, and JCB credit, debit, and prepaid card payments either via its new self-ordering kiosks in NXTGEN stores or over the regular store counter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe congratulate McDonald\u2019s for being one of the trailblazers in pushing for innovations in the quick-service restaurant industry, and our expanded partnership with them brings the payment experience of customers to a whole new level,\u201d added\u00a0PayMaya\u00a0Founder and CEO Orlando B. Vea.<\/p>\n<p>On top of improving the experience of their customers when they dine at McDonald\u2019s stores, offering more digital payment options is in support of the\u00a0Bangko\u00a0Sentral\u00a0ng Pilipinas\u2019 (BSP) National Retail Payments System (NRPS) initiative, which intends to elevate digital transaction usage in the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>For his part,\u00a0Bangko\u00a0Sentral\u00a0ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin E. Diokno said:\u00a0\u201cWe, at the BSP, acknowledge the crucial role the private sector plays in driving the digital transactions in the country. Together with the government and key industry enablers, we must work hand in hand towards our common goal of increasing electronic payment transactions in the country to 20% by next year. As we empower more consumers and businesses to adopt digital payments, we are promoting wide access to financial services leading to a more inclusive and sustainable economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the widespread presence of McDonald\u2019s across the country, more Filipinos can now experience not just the next-generation of quick-service restaurants but an enhanced digital payment experience as well, be it via cards or using the\u00a0PayMaya\u00a0app on their mobile phones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe laud\u00a0BSP for their bid to grow the cashless economy in the country. Through their leadership and partnership with\u00a0a\u00a0brand like us [McDonald\u2019s] and\u00a0innovative\u00a0financial service providers like\u00a0PayMaya, I believe that their\u00a0goal of the Philippines to be a\u00a020% cashless country by 2020\u00a0will be achieved,\u201d Yang furthered.<\/p>\n<p><b>PayMaya\u00a0QR payments come to McDonald\u2019s<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To pay using\u00a0PayMaya\u00a0QR at McDonald\u2019s all users\u00a0have to\u00a0do is download the\u00a0PayMaya\u00a0app on their phones,\u00a0register for an account, and add money via\u00a0PayMaya\u2019s\u00a0widest network of over 40,000 add money touchpoints nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Once their account is ready, they can simply go to\u00a0one of over 200\u00a0McDonald\u2019s stores accepting cashless payments, order via the\u00a0Self-Ordering Kiosk\u00a0or at the Front\u00a0Counter, and\u00a0scan the QR code that appears\u00a0on\u00a0the terminal.<\/p>\n<p>Paying via QR is quick, fast, and convenient, because you don\u2019t need to fish out bills or coins from your wallet in order to pay.
