{"id":36140,"date":"2019-08-15T19:51:10","date_gmt":"2019-08-15T11:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=36140"},"modified":"2019-08-15T19:57:32","modified_gmt":"2019-08-15T11:57:32","slug":"epson-launches-workforce-enterprise-wf-m20590","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2019\/08\/15\/epson-launches-workforce-enterprise-wf-m20590\/","title":{"rendered":"Epson launches WorkForce Enterprise WF-M20590"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Epson launched its high-speed line head Multi-Function monochrome inkjet printer for enterprise printing, the environmentally-friendly WorkForce Enterprise WF-M20590 that prints at speeds of 100 pages per minute (ppm) while reducing impact to the environment when compared to laser printers. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Driven by Epson\u2019s\nPrecisionCore linehead technology, the WF-M20590 delivers a fast first page-out\ntime of 6.2 seconds with minimal warm-up time. High capacity ink cartridges\nyield up to 120,000 pages<a href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> of\nhigh-quality prints, enabling continuous printing with uninterrupted downtime\nand a lower total cost of ownership. Designed to meet the high-volume printing\nneeds of businesses, the printer can handle print volume of 20,000 to 100,000\npages per month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As inkjet printers do not use heat in the\nprinting process, they consume far less power than laser printers. The\nWorkForce Enterprise printers consume up to 85% less energy than a\nsimilar-speed laser printer, which can amount to significant cost savings in\nthe office<a href=\"#_ftn2\">[2]<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inkjet printers also produce up to 85% less\ncarbon dioxide than those of comparable laser printers<sup>3<\/sup>. This means\nthat for every 8 cedar trees required to absorb the amount of carbon dioxide\nbecause of using a laser printer, an Epson inkjet printer requires only 1 cedar\ntree. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of waste\ngeneration, the WorkForce Enterprise printers come with fewer components that\nneed replacing, making them more convenient to operate as they require only\nchanging of the ink cartridges and maintenance box as compared to the toner,\ndrum, developer, fusers and more components for laser models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This translates to 59%\nless replacement parts compared to laser printers<sup>4<\/sup>, significantly reducing\nthe amount of waste generated and impact on the environment over the lifetime\nof a printer. With this, downtime is greatly reduced, with much less\nmaintenance for the printer needed over its lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFollowing the success of the WF-C20590, we are introducing the monochrome WF-M20590 for black and white printing. The WF-M20590 provides an eco-friendly alternative to laser printers while delivering on its 100ppm speed and productivity. As Epson\u2019s inkjet technology does not use heat for printing, the benefits that this brings are manifold \u2013 Reduced maintenance and downtime, no warm-up time required for first print out, ability to print on a wide variety of paper types, and of course, a much-reduced impact to the environment in terms of energy consumption and waste generated,\u201d said Eduardo Bonoan, GM \u2013 Marketing for Epson Philippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align:center\"><strong>***<\/strong><br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"#_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> Replacement cartridge yields are based on ISO\/IEC 24711 tests in Default Mode printing continuously. Cartridge yields vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"#_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a> Testing was\ncommissioned by Epson to Keypoint Intelligence-Buyers Lab. Two comparison\nmodels were selected from color laser multi-function printers in the 65-70ppm\nclass. Tests were conducted at the devices\u2019 default settings using Keypoint\nIntelligence-Buyers Lab standard energy consumption test methods. Calculations\nwere based on a weekday workload of 2 x 4 hours printing + 16 hours in\nsleep\/standby mode, and weekend energy use of 48 hours in sleep\/standby mode. A\ntotal of 69 pages of workload test pattern .doc, .xls, .ppt, .html, and Outlook\nfiles were printed 6 times in each 4-hour printing period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>3<\/sup> Annual CO2\noutput calculations were based on JEMAI-LCA Pro. Cedar tree CO2 absorption\ncalculations were based on Japan Forestry Agency standards of 8.8kg CO2 per\nannum per tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>4<\/sup> Testing was commissioned by Epson to Keypoint\nIntelligence-Buyers Lab. Two comparison models were selected from color laser\nmulti-function printers in the 65-70ppm class.
