\u201cThere is still a long road ahead for the Philippines to become fully cloud ready.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is according to Jason Lim, country manager of Vertiv\nPhilippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, \u201cthe Philippines is still behind other countries in\nthe Asia Pacific region when it comes to cloud adoption. According to the 2018\nCloud Readiness Index by the Asia Cloud Computing Association, the Philippines\nranked 9th out of 14 countries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, Lim said, \u201cimprovements are being made across\nthe industry\u2026 thanks to government support and its adoption of a \u2018cloud first\u2019\npolicy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the challenges faced by the country (that\naffect its cloud-readiness), the \u201cthree concerns that our customers face when\nit comes to cloud adoption are: security, infrastructure readiness and\nresources.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Lim, concerns about cybersecurity remain at the\nforefront when it comes to cloud adoption here, with these threats ranging from\nDDoS attacks, outages or even hackers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInfrastructure readiness is tied closely to the issue of\ncybersecurity. When a data center is secure, threats of cyber-attacks are kept\nat bay with the right solutions in place,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
