To mark the historical event, a commemorative\nceremony where the first flag raising is reenacted takes place each year in\nKawit, Cavite, the province where the first reading of the Declaration of\nIndependence was held. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Philippine flag itself is a powerful\nsymbol of the independence movement, with each of its colors carrying a\nsignificant meaning: blue represents truth and justice, red symbolizes\npatriotism, and white stands for equality. The three stars at the corner\nrepresent the three main regions of the Philippines &#8211; Luzon, Visayas, and\nMindanao. Meanwhile, the eight rays of the sun stands for the first eight\nprovinces that went into battle against Spain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During this holiday, numerous festive\nparades happen nationwide, including a police and military parade in the city\nof Manila. This specific event often culminates with a speech by the President,\nfollowed by a 21-gun salute. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the tenth time that Google has\nhonored the Philippine Independence Day with a specially-designed doodle. Last\nyear, Google Philippines joined the Filipino people in recognizing its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/doodles\/philippines-independence-day-2018\">120th Independence Day<\/a> with a doodle featuring the country\u2019s rich\nmarine life. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the tenth time that Google has honored the Philippine Independence Day with a specially-designed doodle.
