ePLDT received a global accreditation for its newly inaugurated VITRO Data Center in Cebu City.\u00a0NTT Communications now recognizes the new facility as part of its network of Nexcenter-certified data centers, which are located in more than 140 locations in 18 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All Nexcenter-accredited data centers passed rigorous in-house parameters set by NTT Communications, ensuring that all facilities meet the globally consistent data center standards in service quality, flexibility and cost efficiency.<\/p>\n

NTT Communications employs\u00a0consistent operational procedures across all its data centers worldwide, backed with the benchmarks set by international certifications and operational guidelines such as ISO and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).<\/p>\n

To date, ePLDT carries a total of five Nexcenter-accredited data centers that are in Makati, Pasig, Paranaque, Clark and Cebu.<\/p>\n

Similar to other Nexcenter-certified data centers across the globe, VITRO Cebu 2 is positioned to empower both local and multinational businesses with global scalability that conforms with NTT Communications\u2019 consistent data center standards and service quality.\u201d<\/p>\n

VITRO Cebu 2 is ePLDT\u2019s 10th<\/sup>\u00a0data center facility in the country\u00a0to date.\u00a0It houses up to 800 racks, completing ePLDT VITRO Network\u2019s 9,150 total rack capacity.\u00a0These data centers are interconnected by\u00a0Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology,\u00a0which enables consistency of services across the VITRO Network. For instance, SDN minimizes the cost and complexity of backing up and replicating data from one VITRO site to another, therefore not only optimizing IT infrastructure resiliency but also\u00a0providing\u00a0geo-redundancy.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Nerisse Ramos, ePLDT Group SVP and COO,\u00a0VITRO Cebu 2\u2014with its global accreditation\u2014will help drive economic growth by attracting more investors to build their business in the region and optimize its operations by colocating in a premiere data center.<\/p>\n

Built from the ground up, VITRO Cebu 2 has 12 layers of physical security, which is one layer more than what other VITRO Data Centers usually have.\u00a0 Furthermore, the server farm is also built with fire-rated walls that can hold fire for up to six hours. VITRO Cebu 2 also uses high-grade security technologies, including finger-vein scanning features, CCTV cameras, and 24\/7 monitoring and surveillance.<\/p>\n
