{"id":2997,"date":"2013-11-18T13:44:19","date_gmt":"2013-11-18T05:44:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/?p=2997"},"modified":"2013-11-18T13:44:19","modified_gmt":"2013-11-18T05:44:19","slug":"globe-restores-cellular-coverage-14-typhoon-hit-areas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/2013\/11\/18\/globe-restores-cellular-coverage-14-typhoon-hit-areas\/","title":{"rendered":"Globe restores cellular coverage in 14 more typhoon-hit areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Globe Telecom has restored cellular coverage in 16 more municipalities in typhoon-stricken region of Visayas amid continuing accelerated efforts to bring back mobile services in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The telecommunications provider has restored 22 additional cell sites, which are located mostly in Leyte, Samar and Panay islands, enabling the company to expand its cellular coverage in these areas.<\/p>\n<p>Cellular services are now available in the towns of Makato and New Washington\u00a0 in Aklan; Anilao, Banate, Barotac Viejo in Iloilo; Palompon in\u00a0 Leyte; Gandara, San Sebastian, Marabut, Motiong, Paranas, Pinabacdao, Tarangnan in Samar and Anahawan in Southern Leyte.<\/p>\n<p>Globe has so far restored 91% of its network in Cebu; 98% in Negros Occidental, 97% in Negros Oriental, 87% in Bohol;\u00a0 75% in Southern Leyte; 75% in Northern Samar and 77% in Iloilo and 61% in Antique.<\/p>\n<p>Complete list of municipalities in Leyte that are now under cellular coverage are as follows:\u00a0 Bato, Hilongos, Inopacan, Kananga, Matag-ob, Matalom, Palompon, Santa Fe and the cities of Baybay, Ormoc and Tacloban.\u00a0 In Southern Leyte, municipalities with cellular service include Anahawan, Bontoc, Hinundayan, Libagon, Lilo-an, Macrohon, Malitbog, Padre Burgos,\u00a0 Pintuyan, San Ricardo, Saint Bernard, San Francisco, San Juan, Silago, Sogod and in Tomas Oppus.<\/p>\n<p>In Samar island, on the other hand,\u00a0 areas with cellular coverage include Calbayog City, Catbalogan City as well as the towns of Gandara, Jiiabong, Pagsanghan, San Sebastian, Marabut, Motiong, Paranas, Pinabacdao, San Jorge, Santa Rita, Tarangnan, Villareal and Zumarraga all in Western Samar as well as the municipalities of Bobon, Catarman, Mondragon, Pambujan, and Victoria, all in Northern Samar.<\/p>\n<p>Globe has also placed more areas in Panay island under cellular coverage which now include the municipalities of Altavas, Banga, Ibajay, Kalibo, Lezo, Makato, Malinao, Numancia, Tangalan, Nabas, New Washington and Malay, including the tourist destination of Boracay, all in Aklan and the areas of Ivisan, Tapaz and Roxas City in Capiz.<\/p>\n<p>Globe also restored mobile services in practically the entire province of Iloilo.\u00a0 Cellular services are now available in the municipalities of\u00a0 Alimodian, Anilao, Badiangan, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Barotac Viejo,\u00a0 Bingawan, Cabatuan, Calinog, Passi City, Concepcion,\u00a0 Duenas, Dumangas, Guimbal, Igbaras, Janiuay, Lambunao, Leganes, Lemery, Leon, Maasin, Miagao, Mina, New Lucena, Oton, Pavia, Pototan, San Dionisio,\u00a0 San Enrique, San Joaquin, San Miguel, San Rafael, Santa Barbara, Sara, Tigbauan, Tubungan, Zarraga and Iloilo City.\u00a0 In Antique, the company\u2019s coverage now include the municipalities of Anini-y, Barbaza, Belison, Bugasong, Hamtic, Patnongon, San Jose, San Remigio, Sibalom and Tobias Fornier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Globe Telecom has restored cellular coverage in 16 more municipalities in typhoon-stricken region of Visayas amid continuing accelerated efforts to bring back mobile services in the region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":2941,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[19],"tags":[949,33,31],"class_list":["post-2997","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-headlines","tag-disaster-recovery","tag-globe-telecom","tag-telecommunications"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2997","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/6"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2997"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2997\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2941"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2997"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2997"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.upgrademag.com\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2997"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
