The finalists for the prestigious 2013 MEF Carrier Ethernet Awards were announced at the MEF quarterly meeting in Seattle this week. These annual awards recognize excellence and leadership in the development, marketing and delivery of Carrier Ethernet Services. They are presented annually for the Global market and Asia-Pacific, North America, EMEA, and Caribbean & Latin American regions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"MEF<\/a>The judging panel for the global and regional awards was comprised of senior analysts from IDC, Infonetics, Vertical Systems, Gartner, Frost & Sullivan, and Ovum.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had an impressive number of quality entries for this year\u2019s Ethernet Awards program, including many excellent case studies related to Carrier Ethernet business applications,\u201d said Nan Chen, president of the MEF. \u201cThe MEF congratulates the Finalists for their quality work in accelerating the worldwide adoption of high-performance, productivity-enhancing Carrier Ethernet services.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Awards encompassed four specific categories to encourage the widest range of submissions, regardless of company size or footprint.<\/p>\n

Best Carrier Ethernet Business Application \u2013 recognizes partnerships between Service Providers and their clients in the delivery of Carrier Ethernet services for application verticals.<\/p>\n

Best Wholesale Ethernet Service – awarded to the Service Provider with the most robust wholesale service offering extending the reach of Ethernet services, including Mobile Backhaul and Business Ethernet Services.<\/p>\n

Best Marketing \u2013 awarded to the Service Provider who has run the most successful marketing campaign to promote their Ethernet service portfolio in the period from September 2012 onward. This includes assessment of marketing campaign goals and objectives, how companies differentiated their services, and the results gained.<\/p>\n

Service Provider of the Year \u2013 awarded on the basis of the cumulative score from the above 3 categories plus additional qualifications related to the company\u2019s location and specific regional coverage.
