Indian-owned business processing outsourcing firm Intelenet Global Services inaugurated a new business facility to consolidate its presence in the Philippines and support its growth in the region. Located in McKinley West in Taguig City, the company expects to double its manpower base and is looking to put up additional business sites in Metro Manila and in provinces in the next three years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kumar said that with the firm\u2019s presence across several geographies, \u201cwe look forward to expanding our global delivery footprint utilizing the talented workforce the Philippines has to offer. This would act as a major catalyst for growth and employment in the competitive and even expanding global business process services market.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bireswar Singh Laishram, country head at the Philippines office of Intelenet, said that the company currently has close to 2,000 employees. \u201cIn 2017, we expect to grow from a manpower pool of 2,000 to 4,000. We hope to be about 10,000 in three years\u2019 time. We hope to generate more jobs and in our estimates, we will have 8,000 and more jobs in the next three years,\u201d said Singh.<\/p>\n

The new facility consists of four floors. The facility extends services to industries such as banking, financial services, hospitality and travel, healthcare, retail, e-commerce, telecommunications, utilities, information technology, and manufacturing.. They have only filled up one-and-a-half floors and they still have one-and-a-half floors to accommodate about three-and-a-half thousand people.<\/p>\n

Intelenet is also looking to expand its operations by establishing sites not only in Metro Manila but also in provinces to further boost its market performance. But the company has yet to decide which cities to go to next, according to Singh.<\/p>\n

All the same, the Philippines is a major business site for the company because of its large English-speaking population, being the world\u2019s fourth largest English-speaking population, better customer service orientation of Filipinos, and its abundant college graduates.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we do is we pick up somebody who has just passed college or undergone one or two years of college and they don\u2019t have any working experience at all. We get these people, train them, invest in them, train them in customer service skills and collaboration, train them in English communication skills better so they can be employed,\u201d Singh said.<\/p>\n

Regarding their talents, Singh emphasized that they offer more opportunities on their employees. About 90% of their supervisory and middle management positions are filled up by Filipino and are sourced internally.<\/p>\n

Apart from a range of BPO functions that Intelenet provides their clients, Singh said they also put a lot of emphasis on next-generation solutions such as automation and robotics, analytics, mobility and cloud, and social media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
