VXI Global Holdings B.V. Philippines, Inc., one of the country\u2019s fastest growing business process and information technology outsourcing firms, has launched its flagship contact center facility at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City \u2013 its seventh in the Philippines \u2013 and is looking to expand its operations by opening one or two additional sites by end of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the press briefing, Jared Morrison, Senior Vice President and Country Manager at VXI Global Holdings B.V. Philippines, Inc., said the new facility, which will accommodate more than 1,500 employees, is already filled to about 80% of its total capacity and is expected to be fully loaded by end of the year. The estimated cost of this site is Php185-million.<\/p>\n

The Philippines operation of VXI now has a total headcount of 10,225 as of June this year, from a manpower base of only 590 when it started operating in 2003. The total number of employees represents over 40% of the total 21,000 VXI employees globally.<\/p>\n

Morrison said they rely on these people and in return, \u201cwe also invest for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe compensate with above-industry standard pay, including other exceptional benefits,\u201d said Morrison. \u201cPeople work for us and stay long with us because they see opportunities for career advancement and growth, the chance to lead people,\u201d said Morrison.<\/p>\n

Morrison noted they will continue creating careers for Filipinos as they believe in their talents.<\/p>\n

\u201cFilipinos are cheaper. Filipinos are better. They can do their work better here than anywhere in the world,\u201d said Morrison.<\/p>\n

Possible locations for future sites<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regarding their business expansion, Morrison said they are already scouting for two more additional locations. Among these locations are one at the National Capital Region (NCR) and another provincial site. He mentioned that they have already looked at the Next Wave Cities list of the Department of Science and Technology-Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) and the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) for possible locations.<\/p>\n

Morrison also said the announcement on the new location, whether in the NCR or in the province, will be made by the end of the year and the next one by early next year.<\/p>\n

With seven business sites, Morrison claims vast majority of their workers or 95% are involved overwhelmingly in voice while majority of their clients consists of US companies.<\/p>\n

Asked about VXI advantage over other BPOs, Morrison said, \u201cWe maintain a network of workers which are competitive. We invest in technology and provide cutting-edge tools such as training simulator to be used for training talents on how to speak to a customer. We also have tools for recruiting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bright future for BPO in PH<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the facility launching, President Benigno Aquino III acknowledged the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry for its contribution to the country\u2019s economic growth and for providing employment to Filipinos.<\/p>\n

In his speech delivered by Trade and Industry Secretary Adrian Cristobal at the launching of VXI\u2019s flagship contact center facility in Five E-Com Center in Mall of Asia, President Aquino noted that the industry is a success and has contributed in generating jobs locally.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor six years now, the Philippines has been the global leader in voice BPO,\u201d President Aquino said. He also noted that both revenues and number of employees in the industry has doubled in just five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2010, direct employment was at 527,000 and revenues at US$8.9-billion. In 2015, estimates put the employment of your industry at 1.2-million individuals, while revenues are at US$22-billion,\u201d said President Aquino, who, according to Cristobal, was unable to attend the event due to sudden, extreme, and urgent situation he has to attend to.<\/p>\n

President Aquino also said that the future of the industry looks even brighter as it is expected to reach direct employment of 1.3-million individuals, and generate revenues of US$25-billion.<\/p>\n
