For the third straight year, IT solutions provider Pointwest Technologies Corporation was selected as the best Filipino-owned Company of the Year in the recent 10th International ICT Awards Philippines. This elevates Pointwest into the ICT Hall of Fame for that category.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOur third straight win is already a big recognition of the men and women behind Pointwest,\u201d President and CEO Ma. Cristina \u201cBeng\u201d Coronel said. \u201cOur induction to the Hall of Fame tells us that our efforts to promote the capability of the Filipino IT-BPM worker as world-class have not gone unnoticed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pointwest won the award for the Filipino Company of the Year on the strength of its stellar achievements and year-on-year growth. The firm has been able to grow organically offering new services, acquiring new clients, growing its headcount, expanding its geographical reach and adding new delivery centers.<\/p>\n

Last year, 2015, was a banner year for Pointwest. It launched\u00a0 more of its\u00a0 mobile apps in the\u00a0 Philippine marketplace. \u2018Arko,\u2019 a\u00a0 disaster management app\u00a0 continued its winning streak. Arko was the only Filipino app that made it to the World Summit Awards for\u00a0 mobile.<\/p>\n

It was also the first time that the Philippines was honored in the ten years that the WSA has been recognizing the best software products, Web services, and mobile content in the world. Arko is an easy-to-view mobile application of flood maps and rain forecast data taken from Project Noah (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). This very same app\u00a0 was also accorded recognition in the Silver Category of the 2015 ASEAN ICT Awards for Corporate Social Responsibility held in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Another mobile app that\u00a0 gained traction was Pointwest\u2019s healthcare suite of mobility apps called \u2018Easimed\u2019 targeted at\u00a0 ensuring ease for patients\u00a0 covered\u00a0 by\u00a0 health cards\u00a0 as well as\u00a0 HMOs.<\/p>\n

In 2015, Pointwest inaugurated its Digital Center or idea acceleration space at the Rockwell Business Center in Ortigas with\u00a0 His\u00a0 Excellency\u00a0 President\u00a0 Benigno\u00a0 Simeon\u00a0 Aquino III\u00a0 as\u00a0 guest of honor.\u00a0 President Aquino hailed Pointwest\u00a0 for its\u00a0 contributions\u00a0 in\u00a0 helping\u00a0 build the local\u00a0 industry\u00a0\u00a0 and its\u00a0 contributions to the Philippine economy.\u00a0 The President cited Pointwest for being\u00a0 both an inspiration\u00a0 and an icon to a lot of\u00a0 smaller Philippine companies in the\u00a0 industry trying to make their mark in the\u00a0 global marketplace.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese awards will inspire us to do more in the coming years, especially as we transform into a company fully capable of providing world-class digital services both here and everywhere in the world,\u201d Coronel said.<\/p>\n

The Philippines in the last ten years has matured into one of the leading global sourcing providers. The global sourcing industry is expected to generate $25 billion in revenue in 2016 and provide direct employment to 1.3M individuals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
